May I bring my baby/child?

The Mothers Symposium is a morning of inspiration, affirmation, and rest for the mothers of our community.  Traditionally it's a morning when partners or other childcare providers pitch in to allow local mothers a morning off from their routine responsibilities.  However, babes in arms precrawlers) are welcome to join us for the morning. We do ask that as a courtesy to the other guests, if your baby needs a little time to wiggle and exercise their lungs that you take a few minutes to step outside and give your baby the time to get comfortable again! Our volunteers will be available to help you find a comfortable spot in the atrium.

Will I have the opportunity to ask Ms. Lamott a question?

Yes…But! Given the large number of guests and the huge number of questions we anticipate, we are requesting that guests email their questions to us (at paloaltomotherssymposium@gmail.com) in advance by March 2, 2017, midnight. As there will be limited time, we will not be accepting questions during the event, however we will have a table set up before the start of the event where you can jot down your questions for Anne Lamott. Although we cannot guarantee that we will get to everyone’s questions, we will try our best to pull out the recurring themes. Please do send your questions in advance!

Will I have the opportunity to buy books by Ms. Lamott?

Yes, we will have the following titles available for sale in the atrium throughout the event:

Operating Instructions

Some Assembly Required

Traveling Mercies

Help, Thanks, Wow

Stitches

Will I have time to have my book signed?

Yes, you are welcome to bring 1 (one) single copy of a book for Ms. Lamott to sign for you. You can bring a copy of a book from your own collection or purchase books at the event. Ms. Lamott will sign one book per person.  Ms. Lamott has kindly offered to sign books for one hour. She must depart at 12:30pm sharp and we apologize in advance if she is unable to accommodate all that want a book autographed. We will try our best to keep the process smooth and maximize the number of guests that can have their book signed. There will not be an opportunity to take a posed photograph with Ms. Lamott during the event.

I cannot attend the talk, what can I do with my ticket?

We are unable to offer refunds on the tickets. However, if you are unable to make the event, we appreciate if you would consider donating your ticket to our scholarship fund. Please inform us  via emailing paloaltomotherssymposium@gmail.com
